Received a recent purchase for Silent Grundner Studio Shutter (12 cm aperture) from Ramon in Spain (Manual Camera), I was quite pleased as this is one of many variants of camera shutters from the past. It is an interesting shutter model which is an “eyelid” type, which works on pneumatic release. Much different than the common packard model and simpler construction.

Though it is not in a working condition as it appears the pneumatic part were not able to push the lid open. But the shutter, or bellows, is in good working shape. No pinholes or leaks, with an exception of one ef the edge, which seemed to peeled of due to the adhesive had worn off. This part could be easily remedied by re-gluing.

The tube will certainly needs replacing, and an air-bulb at the other end.

The mechanism inside, probably I will re-oil it just to extend the life of the springs inside and makes the movement smoother and less need of strength to push it down.

Though, what might be a bit of challenge, was to decide whether if the gaps at the bottom part needs to be made. Somewhat a sealant or gasket.

Which I think it needs one as that part it could not hold the air pressure to manage a proper release or pushing the mechanism down.
